“Eko” was one of 300 Malayan Tigers left in the world. I took the reference photo at the Naples Zoo where just a few months later he was killed to save an unauthorized human who put his arm into his enclosure. Eko lost his life doing what an apex predator does which is why I named this piece what it did. I also placed him in the misty jungles of his true habitat, free from the bars that were supposed to protect him. Naples Zoo is a quality zoo and staff was heartbroken at the events described above. There is a fund to support Malayan Tigers in his name. Please, visit their website for more information and donate!
This is an original 24” x 36” acrylic painting on stretched canvas.
